Hi, I’m Roberta! I’m the flower loving, museum wandering, photography obsessed creative behind Hiawathia Floral Design Co. My love for flowers blossomed while sharing them with my grandmother, where I discovered just how much joy a simple bouquet could bring. That experience planted the seed for what would become my greatest passion.
Today, you’ll usually find me dreaming up colorful floral designs inspired by fashion, fine art, nature, and a little everyday magic. When I’m not surrounded by blooms, I’m probably juggling the following: exploring a museum, photographing something beautiful, hunting down great food, keeping up with my favorite three humans that I mother, a cat that only needs me for food and catching up the latest K drama. Inspired by fashion, fine art, museums, architecture, and nature, I use fearless color, movement, texture, and thoughtful design to create floral experiences that reflect your story, your vision, and the feeling you want your guests to have. Every detail is chosen with intention, resulting in florals that are visually striking, deeply personal, and uniquely yours.

Just as much thought goes into your experience as your flowers. From our first conversation to installation day, my goal is to make the entire process seamless, enjoyable, and effortless. Every recommendation is made with purpose, creating a cohesive floral experience while thoughtfully considering every meaningful detail. That same intentionality extends beyond the celebration through sustainable practices, including foam free mechanics whenever possible, minimizing waste, and packaging leftover blooms for guests to enjoy long after the celebration has ended.

For me, floristry has never been just about flowers. It’s always been about people.
My appreciation for the power of flowers first blossomed while sharing them with my grandmother, where I discovered the joy, comfort, and connection they could bring. That experience shaped the way I see flowers today. To me, flowers are more than beautiful blooms. They celebrate life’s milestones, honor the people we love, express what words sometimes cannot, and create memories that last long after the flowers have faded.
That’s why every design begins with a story. Before selecting a single bloom, I take time to discover what matters most to you. Sometimes the story begins with a favorite flower, a favorite color, a cherished memory, someone you want to honor, a couture gown, or a work of art. Other times, it’s inspired by the feeling you want your guests to experience the moment they walk into the room.
From there, I bring your story to life through fearless color, expressive movement, rich texture, sculptural lines, and unexpected botanical pairings, creating floral artistry that is deeply personal and unmistakably yours. Whether I’m translating the movement of a couture gown into flowers, celebrating a loved one’s favorite bloom, or designing an immersive floral installation, my goal is always the same: to bring people and flowers together in meaningful ways.
